Cristo Rey High School

Studio Current worked with the Administration and Board of Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School, a college preparatory program aimed at sending 100% of its student body to college, to create a new blended learning environment. The space was designed to encompass Math, Science, Language, and Arts classrooms along with administrative office space, conference rooms, and a chapel. The building’s design converts the school classroom environment into a high-tech modern office environment, providing students state-of-the-art technology to assist in the learning process. The classroom and administrative building have a two-story steel brace frame designed to fit within the context of the century-old Five Wounds Catholic Church and the Little Portugal neighborhood of San Jose. A future BART station will be built across the street from this urban infill campus.
